The Morrison Creek light rail station will be in an area of south Sacramento that is currently undeveloped. The future station will be located west of Morrison Creek, halfway between the southern end of Detroit Avenue and the planned light rail extension to Cosumnes River Boulevard.
The Morrison Creek Station is designed to be integrated into a future transit oriented development, and constructed in conjunction with the adjacent development site. It will include a 75 space park-and-ride lot and provisions for a bus transfer area.
In order to provide a coherent urban design and streetscape appearance along
Cosumnes River Boulevard, the design of Morrison Creek Station will be similar
to the design of the Franklin and Center Parkway stations. The station and shelter
design is based on the “Crossroads” scheme presented at the July 16, 2009, public
meeting. The station platform will be adorned with colored glass pebbles for decoration.
